CASA of Cook County’s Forgotten Children Campaign runs through June 30, 2009, with a special community awareness event on May 8 to kick-off the campaign. At this event, 65 life-size displays of children will be placed outside the James R. Thompson Center in downtown Chicago. Each display will represent 100 of the 6,500 foster youth in Cook County. Additionally, board members, aldermen and local dignitaries will speak about the importance of CASA of Cook County’s work. The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
